Legalization of Marijuana

Though some people may abuse the drug, marijuana should be legalized because of the benefits the drug offers to many others. There are medical benefits to marijuana use such as for cancer patients, people infected with AIDS, multiple sclerosis, and epileptics. The physical effects of marijuana use are relatively harmless. The government could make a significant profit by taxing marijuana if the drug was legalized and possibly diminish the drug dealers business. By decriminalizing the drug, the government would also save money because the United States spends millions of dollars to enforce marijuana laws.

Are Uniforms a Good Way to Improve Student Discipline and Motivation?

I believe that if the children in a school have to wear uniforms then the child would be forced to focus more on their studies more then what the other students got as new clothes for Christmas or a birthday. There are several parents that can’t afford to buy their children new clothes so that they will not have to wear the same thing over and over again through the week. This way the child will not feel like everyone else is better off than them because they have better cloths.

Drunk Driving

Imagine being in a bar with a few of your good friends. Everyone is drinking and having a good time. Your are going to leave and go home, but you friends won’t let you because they know the dangers of driving after having a few drinks. Instead they ca ll a cab to give you a ride home. You would be extremely lucky to have such smart friends. Drunk driving is a very serious problem in our society today, but it is becoming socially unacceptable causing the numbers of alcohol related traffic fatalities t o decline considerably.

Global warming is becoming a bigger issue every day. There are, however, many ways to look at this situation. One way you could look at it is that, “human activity is accelerating climate change,” according to many scientists. Another way to look at it, as some scientists say, is that “while global warming is occurring, it’s happening at such a slow rate that there isn’t any serious cause for alarm.” How do you see it?

Differing Points of View Towards Pollution
There are two main points of view on pollution; that of the environmentalists and that of industry and big business. Basically, the environmentalists want all forms of pollution greatly reduced or eliminated. At the same time, industry and big business say it is too expensive to cut down on pollution.
