1.1 Background of the Study
Cellular phones, a computer controlled communications system that connects the telephone system to a network of mobile radiotelephones, has been the latest trend of this country, mainly because of the features it has to offer: Multi-colored casings, Colored LCD’s, Polyphonic ringing tones, WAP, JAVA games, Infrared reception, WAV files, built in cameras, and of course, the ever popular text messaging feature. Text messaging is the technology wherein you can communicate with people through the use of mobile telephones with the short message service (SMS) feature, just by typing a message composed of 160 characters. It works with a prepaid or postpaid SIM card, current telecoms that supports this feature are the Globe telecoms, Smart telecoms and Sun Cellular network. Text messaging has been the people’s favorite source of communication for the past few years, until present. It is communication made easy for the people of today. Its purpose is to cut down on call costs, and it has been the permanent replacement for the “pager” or “beeper”, which, others consider as a thing of the past.
Sociology is the study of social life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. Sociologists investigate the structure of groups, organizations, and societies, and how people interact within these contexts. Since human behavior is shaped by social factors, the subject matter of sociology ranges from the intimate family to the hostile mob; from organized crime to religious cults; from the divisions of race, gender and social class to the shared beliefs of a common culture; and from the sociology of work to the sociology of sports. In fact, few fields have such broad scope and relevance for research, theory, and application of knowledge. (Hillsman, 2006)
Sociology is the study of social rules and processes that bind and separate people not only as individuals, but as members of voluntary associations, professional bodies, groups and institutions.
One might argue that because the subject of matter of sociology is more difficult to study and interpret than the subjects pursued in other sciences, it does not mean the scientific method is not appropriate for the social sciences. The subject of matter of sociology undergoes continuous change. This fact alone portrays efforts at prediction difficult. For that of the Natural scientist it should be noted that the problems encountered as biologists try to track the AIDS virus, as it too continually mutates. Sociology is a science just as much as biology and chemistry. Social Sciences, like natural and biological sciences, use a dynamic methodology. This simply means that a social scientist clearly states the problems he or she is interested in and clearly spells out how he or she arrives at their, his or her conclusions. Generally, social scientists ground the procedure in a body of existing literature. This is precisely how other sciences function. Like Natural Scientists, the role of a sociologist is to observe, measure and explain what can be observed and formulate theories when human behavior is perceived. Regardless of the fact that Natural Scientist do experiments in labs, Sociologists too carry out experiments, while they are not in labs, sociologists interview and question people and go about finding information in a direct way.

“The need of a constantly expanding market for its production chases the bourgeoisie over the whole surface of the globe. It must nestle everywhere, settle everywhere, establish connections…it creates a world after its own image.”
Combating Human Trafficking
Over the past several years, human trafficking has become a sizable world-wide problem. Human Trafficking has had a considerable affect on the World and United States. To combat this, several laws and initiatives have been enacted. While this allows for some headway in combating this problem, there are still several things that we can do to help. This review of literature on Human Trafficking focuses on these areas and provides the information on the steps that can help combat this epidemic.
The use of capital punishment is believed to deter future acts of crimes and deter the number of people who commit these crimes.
